Here's a great article I found at www.northwestnavigator.com: -- Musician Randy Houser performed for military members and their families during a free show at Sam Adams restaurant onboard Naval Base Kitsap, July 21. Randy Houser has written hit songs titled “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” and “Anything Goes”. He has also written for artists such as Trace Adkins, John Michael Montgomery, and Chris Young. The performance was sponsored by the United Service Organization (USO) and Seattle country radio station KMPS FM.  “I think performing for the military had to be the most awesome experience I’ve ever had,” said Houser. “I’ve never performed for the service members and I was really excited to do this. It was exciting to come here to perform, but also to see my name on the sign at the front gate. I was like, ‘Here we are, for real?’ This was amazing. I’m glad to be here.” Tony Thomas, music director and afternoon DJ at the radio station, hopes to be able to provide more free performances for military members. “I thought Randy’s performance on base was really fun,” said Thomas. “Everyone had a great time and got to see his engaging personality and southern charm.  The reaction he got to his songs was terrific. We (the radio station) haven’t done a lot of USO specific performances, but we always try to do whatever we can for our military. If we’re able to take an artist on base or play in any way to support the men and women of our armed forces, we will. We would like to do more of these that are tied in with the USO, and with the success of today’s event, we’ll be able to do that.” Sailors, military employees, and family members were on hand to watch the up and coming country performer. “It was a really good performance,” said Fireman Rustylee Grim of the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). “We had a lot of fun. He didn’t just get up there and sing. He went out there and had fun with us.” According to Houser, this free performance was a way for him to thank military members for the job they do. “I just want to say thank you to the troops,” said Houser. “The military personnel dedicate years of their lives to help this country and protect the way of life that I have.  When I go to play in a bar and I sit there and have a good time, I realize that I’m safe. We can gather at times like that and know that we are safe and it’s all because of the military guys.
