Worship services go contemporary

The NAVSTA Everett Chaplain’s Department has recently overhauled its Christian Praise Service to offer a more contemporary church for all Sailors to worship in. The modifications, which include contemporary praise songs, a service open to all members of the Armed Forces and non-denominational worship, were started after Aviation Electrician’s Mate Third Class Joshua Mauk, an assistantant in the Chaplain’s office, came to the chaplains and offered his talents to enhance Everett’s worship service.

ITT has lots for you to do

Sailors, moan your Friday night lament no longer. Never again must you utter, “There’s nothing to do around here,” while assigned to NAVSTA Everett. There exists a service on base located in The Commons, known as ITT (Information, Tickets and Tours), which is solely dedicated to providing every Sailor with fun things to do while stationed in Washington, according to Deb Abbarno, recreation specialist with ITT.

In support of all the men, women and children whose lives are affected by domestic violence, the month of October was selected as Domestic Violence Awareness (DVA) month. DVA month evolved from the first Day of Unity observed in October of 1981 by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
