For more than 10 year, Naval Station Everett has been referred to as “The Sailor’s Choice.”
Thursday, Dec. 9, the city of Everett Chamber of Commerce (COC) declared the station as Everett’s choice.
At the city’s 2004 Night of Stars annual awards gala, the COC named NAVSTA Everett the Employer of the Year.

In fact, some servicemembers become heroes without even realizing it.
Which was the case on Tuesday, Dec. 7, during the ninth annual Snohomish County Red Cross Real Heroes Breakfast, which honors local heroes and their accomplishments.

Since the attack on USS Cole (DDG 67) on Oct. 12, 2000, and the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, the Navy has been especially diligent in their approach to anti-terrorism force protection.
USS Abraham Lincoln proved to be no exception as the crew faced two days of intense drills during their Force Protection Exercise (FPEX) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Nov. 23-24.

With Christmas music on the radio and the holidays just around the corner, NAVSTA Everett Youth Programs decided to start celebrating a little early by offering a Celebration of Lights Breakfast Buffet for all the local Navy families.
The event was held last Saturday and featured a breakfast buffet with food from different cultures around the world and holiday arts and crafts like making snowmen ornaments, Kwanzaa mat weaving and a dreidel game.

Hundreds of rivers and tributaries empty into the Puget Sound and they come bearing more than just water. Numerous trees, garbage, and debris make its way to the Sound every day.
And were it not for the efforts of four dedicated men and a 60-year old, 104-foot debris boat, the Puget Sound would be one cluttered body of water.

The tandem is helping distribute gift certificates and toys to active duty families in need of support during the holiday season.
