The NAVSTA Everett chaplains office, along with the Navy Wives Club of America (NWCA) have joined forces to make sure this year is a happy holiday for every Navy family.
The tandem is helping distribute gift certificates and toys to active duty families in need of support during the holiday season.

The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) recently honored Naval Station Everett and its support agencies for their role in helping to continue the USNSCC tradition.
The Sea Cadets held their annual awards ceremony in the Reserve Center’s drill hall Nov. 20 to recognize those who’ve aided the group throughout the year, said USNSCC Lt.j.g. B. Baillie.

It’s a dog eat dog world out there, or so MA2(SW) Robert Meyerhoff might have said two years ago.
At the time, Meyerhoff was an undesignated Fireman in the emergency diesel generator division on board USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). While harboring dreams of one day becoming a Master at Arms trained in dog handling, he plugged away at his job, never losing sight of his ultimate goal.
Today, Meyerhoff may have a different outlook on Navy life. He’s currently living his dream as a canine handler at Naval Station Everett after recently graduating from the Department of Defense Dog Handling School (DoD DHS), at the top of his class.

It was early Saturday morning at Naval Station Everett and while many Sailors were still in a deep sleep enjoying the day off, 24 men were being put through their paces.
Under an overcast sky and amid the sharp autumn chill, Daniel Burleigh, coach of the Navy Region Northwest flag football team, kept a watchful eye on the proceedings.
These 24 officers, Sailors, and Marines will represent the region on Dec. 3, when Navy takes on the Army in the fifth annual flag football game.

On Thursday, Nov. 18, Naval Station Everett’s Construction Battalion Unit (CBU) 421 unveiled its latest and perhaps final project on board the station.
With a snip of the ribbon, the new building officially opened for business and will now serve as NAVSTA Everett’s ground support equipment warehouse, Bldg. 2136.

NAVSTA Everett’s first annual ski expo this past Wednesday brought 150 sailors and station personnel in contact with a number of regional business pandering to the snow-set here in the northwest. Everett’s expo, which followed similar events at NAS Whidbey and NAVSTA Kitsap that week, entertained over 150 attendees, many of whom left the event with some manner of prize or award.

On Tuesday, Nov. 9, Cmdr. Timothy Spratto relieved Cmdr. David Schnell as commanding officer of USS Ford (FFG 54).
In a ceremony on board the Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided missile destroyer, Schnell said farewell to Ford and its crewmembers.

Kaitlin Ross sat at a desk inside the Snohomish County Red Cross building, eagerly waiting to send a message to her deployed husband. But this was no ordinary voice or email.
Ross is the first person to take advantage of the local Red Cross’ “Project Video Connect,” which allows spouses and family members of military personnel to record and send a video of themselves to their loved ones serving away from home.
