Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Outdoor Programs gave more than 200 Sailors the ability to receive all of their snow season information under one roof at the annual Winter Expo in Naval Station Everett’s Commons and Recreation Center, Nov. 15.

“The Winter Expo kicks off the winter season and gives Sailors a chance to talk with local venders and ski resort representatives,” said Mike Petrowski, recreation specialist for Outdoor Programs. “I am very pleased of how many people showed up for the event everyone did a great job and had fun.”

Among the 16 different booths were representatives from local stores who presented ready-to-sell gear, including winter clothing, boards, boots and binding. Local ski resort representatives also shared information on possible winter conditions and different ways to obtain discounted ski passes.

Other Sailors enjoyed browsing the array of booths especially the Seattle Seahawks Sea Gals who were selling there 2008 calendars.

“I am enjoying myself and there are a lot of actives to get involved with,” said Aviation Electronics Technician 3rd Class Travis Prater, USS Abraham Lincoln Beach Detachment. “Being new to the area this is a good way for me to get out and socialize with other Sailors and pick up on a sport that I’ve never done before.”
