NAVMAG welcomes new addition

Naval Magazine staff and special guests gathered at the existing pier to celebrate the opening of the new $3.3 million ammunition wharf March 15. The contractor for the project was Chugach McKinley Inc. from Bremerton and the architect was Tetra Tech/KCM in Seattle.

Civilians are awarded for their service

During a small awards ceremony March 15, Capt. Douglass Biesel, commanding officer, Naval Base Kitsap, recognized three civilians for their dedication to serve NBK. Fire Capt. Bruce Wold, Navy Region Northwest Fire Department at NBK, Phyliss Hammonds, recreation specialist for the School Age Care Program and Randy Fix, Installation Program director for Information Services were each acknowledged.
