Help improve water quality in Sinclair, Dyes inlets
The public is invited to get involved with Project ENVVEST (Environmental Investment). An ENVVEST Community Advisory Com-mittee meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, at the Jackson Park Community Center, 90 Olding Rd, Bremerton.
The ENVVEST Community Advisory Committee was established to help gather input about local water quality issues from a wide range of community members. You can participate on a regular basis, or simply join us for an update about what we are working on and where we are headed.
Topics for this meeting include an update on the water quality improvement plan for bacteria in the Sinclair and Dyes Inlets, recent modeling activities, a presentation on low impact development strategies to reduce polluted runoff.
Project ENVVEST is a partnership between Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Facility (PSNS & IMF), the Washington De-partment of Ecology, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to work together to develop long-term, cost-effective methods for improving water quality in the Sinclair and Dyes inlets.
