Keyport walk-run to benefit Ammon Memorial Fund
The Keyport Scholarship Fund is sponsoring a walk-run to benefit the Lt. Jeffrey Ammon Memorial Fund as
a part of NUWC Keyport’s
Diversity Day Aug. 7. Keyport’s Diversity Day is an annual event that grows in scope each year. This year,
the desire to hold a walk-run to encourage good health resulted from the idea of a honoring a fallen hero.
The 5k run will cover the area of Radio Hill, located in part of the housing area at Naval Base Kitsap, Keyport.
Those more inclined to walk can participate in a 1.5k walk.
Runners and walkers from throughout the region are invited to participate. A donation of $15 is suggested.
All donations will be provided to the memorial fund established for Lt. Jeffrey Ammon at the Navy Federal Credit Union.
Lt. Ammon worked for Navy Region Northwest before being called to duty in Afghanistan as an individual
augmentee. He died of injuries there May 20.
Pre-registration for the walk-run is required. To sign up, call Laurie Musick at (360) 315-7642 or e-mail:
