Tammy Curtis was presented a Certificate of Appreciation on Feb. 24 by Cmdr. Stan Robertson, commanding officer USS Nevada (SSBN 733 Gold), for her performance as the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Representative in the Submarine Squadron Headquarters building from February 1994 to February 2005.  Curtis has worked for MWR for 14 years and has run the coffee stand in the squadron headquarters building for the past 11 years where she “provides superb customer service, serving countless Sailors refreshing hot espressos, lattes, mochas, and various food items with a smile.”

The crew of the USS Nevada (SSBN 733 Gold) thanked her for her dedication in helping them jump start their mornings.

According to Ensign Anthony Harper, USS Nevada (SSBN 733 Gold) supply officer, Curtis was adopted by the crew several years ago and shows her boat pride by wearing a crew shirt and nametag regularly.

“When we gave her the award, our chief petty officers also recognized her with a new Nevada polo shirt and new nametag,” said Harper.

Curtis, teary eyed, replied, “I love you guys.”
