West Sound begins ‘Tokens for Towels’ program at fitness centers
Concourse West Fitness and Aquatic Center in Bremerton and Bangor Fitness and Aquatic Center will begin a new program April 1 called ‘Tokens for Towels’.
The aim of ‘Tokens for Towels’ is to curb the number of towels that become lost from both fitness centers.
“The program is free to all eligible patrons, which includes all military, family members and Department of Defense (DoD) civilians,” said Ebben A. Jones Sr., Naval Base Kitsaps Sports, Fitness and Aquatics coordinator. “Patrons can come in, show their identification and receive two tokens. We’ll begin issuing tokens March 1.”
Starting April 1, a patron will come in the door and show their military or DoD civilian ID card to get into the fitness center. If they want a towel, they will drop one of their gold tokens into a bin to receive a towel. When they leave the gym, they will return the towel at the front desk to get back their token.
The ‘Tokens for Towels’ program is already in place on Naval Station Everett and Naval Air Station Whidbey Island and has shown success.
