Kickoff
-- Today at 10 a.m. at the Recycle Center on Langley Boulevard, Bldg. 2555. Come for cake-cutting ceremony.
Housing Spring Cleanup Drop-off Service
-- Today through April 29, NASWI PPV residents may bring large, bulky, unwanted household items (furniture, large appliances, etc.) for drop-off to the Recycle Center.
-- Exceptions (items not accepted): Refrigerators/freezers, paint or any kind of hazardous material, tires, and propane bottles.
-- Hours for drop-off: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout the month of April.
-- Proof of residency required.
Housing Spring Cleanup Pickup Service
-- Monday, April 4 through Friday, April 8, truck crews will drive to pre-appointed residences to retrieve unwanted items.
-- Pick-up is by appointment only for families of currently deployed service members and single parents.
-- Appointments will be accepted through Friday, April 8.
-- Residents are required to place their items either curbside or in their carport on the day of pick-up (not before), and to be present for pickup.

Emergency Spill Response Demonstration
-- Wednesday, April 6, in the waters off Polnell Point.
-- Point of contact is James Johnson, NAS Environmental Office, 257-4430.
Dumpster Diving Championship
-- Wednesday, April 13, at the Recycle Center. Kickoff is at 10 a.m.
Eight teams are welcome on first-come-first-serve basis. Cash prizes will be awarded for local MWR programs. Participants must have coveralls and gloves; costumes are highly encouraged.
Earth Day Beach Cleanup
-- Friday, April 22, at Seaplane Base Earth Day Park. Kickoff is at 10 a.m.
-- Barbecue sponsored by Center for Naval Technical Training Unit will follow at approximately 1 p.m.
Group tours of Navy Whidbey Recycle
-- Offered throughout April upon request.
