Motivated maintainers rewarded at VAQ-133

The Wizards of VAQ-133 recently held their semi-annual service dress blues inspection and afterward, Commanding Officer, Cmdr. W.C. Minter presented several awards to some professional warriors.

Leading the way at the awards quarters were Personnel Specialist 2nd Class(AW) Theresa Brandes and Storekeeper 2nd Class(SW) Connie Smiglewski, who received a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.

For her outstanding performance at Sea Control Squadron 41, Aviation Electronics Technician 3rd Class Danielle Schneider received a flag letter of commendation from Vice Adm. Zortman, commander Naval Air Forces.

Showing dedication and a desire to increase his professional knowledge, Aviation Maintenance 3rd Class Joshua Reyes earned his Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist wings. Reyes and Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Paula Clendenin received letters of appreciation from Minter for their hard work during the last change of command ceremony.

Next came awards for Wizard of the Quarter, third quarter 2005. Senior Wizard of the Quarter went to Aviation Electronics Technician 1st Class(AW) Paul Atkinson.

Supervisor Wizard of the Quarter went to Aviation Machinist Mate 2nd Class(AW) Ricardo Ramirez.

Junior Wizard of the Quarter went to Personnel Specialist 3rd Class(AW) Analyn DeVega.

Airman Wizard of the Quarter went to Intelligence Specialist Seaman David Barnard.

For outstanding performance as first lieutenant leading petty officer, Aviation Electrician’s Mate 3rd Class Bret Galloway received a commendation letter and 96-hour special liberty chit from Minter.

During a recent detachment to Eilson Air Force Base for exercise Cope Thunder, these hard-charging Wizards were awarded certificates of appreciation from Col. Robert Wright, Commander of the Air Expeditionary Wing, for outstanding performance and professionalism: AM2 Joshua Brewster, AT2 Jeremy Todd, AM3 Jordan Rose, SK3 Anthony Michalski and AN Winniw Arios.

Finally, for showing the dedication and drive every Wizard strives for at work and in every aspect of his or her life, Airman Richard Armijo received a letter of appreciation from the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS), Whidbey Island office, for his work as a volunteer.

The NMCRS is dedicated to improving the quality of life for our Navy and Marine Corps men and women.
